“The most friendly and helpful place you'll find in Vegas”

I came here looking for a bed in an emergency and, not only did I get a good cheap room, but the staff went out of their way to help me with other advice and ways to save expenses and were generally just excellent people.
Highly recommended, it has a better feel to it than places worth double the cost.

“It's a backpackers not hotel... for the budget traveler - it's great!”

All the bad reviews are such a shame... What were these people looking for? If they were looking for a nice hotel.. clearly they shld rethink it on their budget because clearly, can't afford it... Not sure why you'd say here unless a traveller..

The Tod isn't glitzy, the tod doesn't have a huge pool or a casino.. And as a backpackers hostel.. I didn't expect it to. For what it was, the rooms were great, an old converted motel, bunk beds and ensuites.. The convenience of an ensuite in a backpackers and 4 people room? Sensational.. The pool was clean, the staff were amazing! Picked us up from the bus stop and dropped us off too!! So accomodating, outdoor movies, margaritas and a very relaxed environment, free internet!! A small kitchen... everything!

Of all the backpackers hostels I stayed in as I crossed America in 2008, this one and another in New Orleans called India House were standouts...

If you're a backpacker, ignore the bad reviews... They're wrong..( well unless things have changed dramatically in the last two years..)!!!

"Definitely a great value if you want to just go out in Vegas and sleep here. The staff are amazing"

The staff and owners of this hostel can't be beat. They were 100% committed to making sure we had a great stay and did everything we wanted to do in Las Vegas. As a matter of fact, while we were waiting for the bus, one of the people running the hostel actually offered us a ride down the strip. He drove the four of us all the way down the strip, took our pictures under the sign, and then dropped us off where we wanted to go. It was unbelievable! Another guy working there also lent us $20 when we needed cash right away. We were four college girls traveling together and the people at this hostel went out of their way to make sure we had a safe and enjoyable experience in Vegas. People like this who are so eager to help are what makes a hostel a great one.

This hostel is very centrally located. it is actually on the strip-las vegas boulevard- so it is only a short distance walk or bus ride to all the action both on the strip and downtown. the hostel is clean, the staff are helpful, there's free pancake breakfast and a pool and it is excellent value for money, with no hidden or extra charges. i would definitely recommend this hostel as a place to stay when on a low budget in vegas

The staff were really friendly and very accommodating. I asked about wireless internet in the room and they gave me a room close to reception. The closet area was quite large with a vanity outside of the bathroom. There was just a stand up shower but I wasn't there to soak in a tub. Free cable, free local calls and they added a microwave and mini fridge for free so that was a huge asset for me. The bed was comfortable enough - not anything you'd get at one of the fancier hotels but then again I paid $170 for the week not for the night. The walls are thick and I never heard a single sound the whole time I was there. It is an older property with a lot of history. The area isn't that great for walking around at night but I felt safe as a single female. I would ask for something close to reception. I had room 103. I would stay there again. It's only a 5 min walk to Stratosphere. Best of there are no hidden fees or extras to pay. I paid $170 for the week plus tax came to $195. No surprise bill at the end :)

Great Place !!

I met a couple of my friends in Las Vegas and we booked rooms at The Tod. We were so pleased at the room and the service !! The pool was clean and back away from the street so we sat and soaked up the sun. We didn't know it was an international hostel so it was fun to hang with a couple of Italian guys and then we all went out dancing together. It was nice to come back to our room after partying all night.

Would definitely recommend this place and go back! We were some of the first travellers to stay at Todd's since it's been accredited by HI, so they're still working on a lot of things . But staff was super friendly, both the people in the office as the lady making your pancakes in the morning. Vegas can be very hot year-round, but good A/C and especially the outdoor pool compensate for this! Great location too, with easy access to the hotels on "the Strip".

Friendly staff is a very important factor and the staff here were fantastic. Big thanks to Keith for looking after us, if your looking to party then this guy will hook you up with everything you need at a very low worthy price. Would be good to have lock up lockers in the rooms but that would be my only suggestion. Sheets etc were replaced daily and everything was kept clean. Location is ok, about 10-15 min walk from the major spots but its not bad. Thanks heaps and would stay again!
